Excel Martial Arts is proud to be affiliated with America's leading martial arts organization: The American Taekwondo Association.
Founded in 1969 by the Eternal Grand Master Haeng Ung Lee, the ATA has grown to over 1,500 schools and 300,000 registered members in America and overseas.
The Eternal Grand Master Lee's vision was to create a traditional Taekwondo training program that established standards to ensure consistent instruction. The ATA is unique in that all prospective instructors must participate in an extensive certification process along with continuing education to retain that certification. Not only does this training create exceptional professionalism, it also produces a special camaraderie between instructors worldwide.
Due to its size, the ATA and affiliated schools offer hundreds of training and competition venues that are available to ATA members only. It is not uncommon for close friendships to develop between participants that may live thousands of miles apart. This is just another unique advantage membership.
It is also the ATA's goal to bring the advantages of Taekwondo training to everyone. Specialized training is available for all. There are programs for both the youngest student as well as the more mature one. Competition and training classes are available for 3-year old toddlers to 70-year old seniors along with individualized instruction and competition for the special ability student. The support of the organization is always present to bring out the very best in anyone and everyone.
As a student of the ATA and Excel Martial Arts Academy, you can be sure that you are training under a first-class system of martial arts that has been developed and refined for over thirty-five years by the world's foremost masters. The white uniform remains a symbol of the timeless distinction of traditional Taekwondo and the preparation behind the collar of the instructor assures that the training will stay constant throughout time.
When you become a member of Excel Martial Arts Academy and the American Taekwondo Association, you become much more than a student, you become a member of a family.
